BANKSTERS: ILLUSTRATED TALES FROM AN ECONOMIC WASTELAND
OPEN CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS
Fringe Majority is holding an open call for submissions to a new comic book anthology, Banksters: Illustrated Tales from an Economic Wasteland.
The book finished book will be a full color,150 page, 8.5” x 11″ case-laminated hardcover available for purchase at Barnes & Noble, Amazon.com, and other retailers. A digital edition will be available through Wowio, and iBooks, with a special edition available through Graphicly.
All profits from the book will be distributed 50% to the United Way (to be made as a quarterly donation) and 50% to be split amongst the contributors. We have chosen The United Way due to their on-going efforts to assist families in crisis and combat the effects of employment.
We are seeking submissions, color or black and white, of a length between one and five pages. You may submit as a team. Submissions should focus on the themes of the current global economic crisis and we will accept stories from a variety of conceptual viewpoints. We will consider any format, including traditional six-panel strips and fell bleed illustrations. Submissions should be titled.
Technical requirements:
Submissions should be supplied in a jpeg format, CMYK colorspace at 300dpi. The print size should be 11” x 14” with a margin of .5” on all sides. We understand the art requirements are not a standard size, but will fit with our hardcover printing specifications.
By submitting to our anthology you agree to the following guidelines:
- The work you submitted is your own, or the work of your team.
- You have all legal rights to submit the work on behalf of your team.
- Upon submission Fringe Majority has the exclusive right to publish the work for use in the anthology and for any and all promotional purposes. This right is revoked should we choose to reject your submission.
- Fringe Majority shall be held harmless against any claim arising from copyright infringement made against your submission.
- You agree to allow us the use of your name(s) in any promotional materials related to the anthology.
- You retain the copyright to your work, but grant Fringe Majority a perpetual region-agnostic license to publish the work in the context of the anthology.
- Fringe Majority retains the right to translate your work for international editions.
We will be accepting submissions between January 2nd, 2012 and February 10th, 2012. There is no cost to enter your submission and accepted artists will be announced on February 17th, 2012.

Please include your full name, and those of your team if applicable with a contact address, phone number, and email address. We will accept submissions from any nationality, but all work must be submitted in English. If you are a US resident you will be required to fill out and return a W9 tax form before you receive a royalty check.
